Flamingo Real Estate News & Flamingo Marina Update

Dear Reader,

It’s been a while since the last post. The Flamingo Marina Resort’s New Year’s Eve party was a great event with over 150 guests attending. There has been a pick up in activity in the area, the attached shot is a ship from Wind Star Cruises which was heading up to Nicaragua earlier this month but was forced to pull into Flamingo for shelter from the gale force northerly winds. Great news on Flamingo’s marina, the bidding process is to be re-initiated next month, who knows with a new marina maybe Flamingo will be able to attract cruise ships on a regular basis. Meanwhile there are still some great deals to be had on ocean front and ocean view condos.

Real Estate in Guancaste and Flamingo Beach


Welcome to Realtor’s Corner, over the course of the year I will be periodically posting a short blog aimed at letting you know about issues and events related to real estate in the Flamingo area, (there may be a few “tongue in cheek” posts to boot !!).

As many of you will already know, due to the current circumstances up in the US, we have witnessed a slowdown in both tourism and real estate turnover here in the Flamingo area. Those of us that have been involved in this area long enough are familiar with these kinds of cycles and realize that whilst this period lasts, a number of opportunities will arise enabling those investors who were perhaps previously priced out of Flamingo to get a foothold in the property market here at more affordable prices. The key is to act now while you have the opportunity to view a range of properties with relatively few bidders, these circumstances will not however last forever, so my advice would be to secure your piece of paradise this year.

As Kevin Roberts of Saatchi and Saatchi said "Consumers don’t stop spending when economies go through down cycles, they look harder for value."
